It’s hard to believe it is already time for me to open up my fall booking calendar!!  Every year gets busier and busier with people trying to get in for their fall photos and this year will be no exception.  October is also proving to be a very busy month with several of my clients adding new babies to their families so I will be extra busy!

Here is how fall booking works…

There are two different types of sessions to choose from. Full family sessions are more relaxed, we walk around the park for a variety of settings, I will take candid images and tell a story along with some of everyone looking at the camera. I don’t limit the time however we are working with the sun so it normally is around 1hr sometimes shorter, sometimes longer. I will edit around 40-50 images for you to pick your final 25 images from. You will have the option to purchase additional images from the gallery. Mini sessions are more structured as they are back to back sessions, we will remain in one location, session is strict to 25-30min. I will edit between 15-20, you pick 10 from that but can purchase additional images at this time.

After your session, around 2-3weeks, a gallery will be sent to you to pick your final images via my proofing site. You will also have the option to purchase additional files from your gallery at this time. Once selected your final high resolution files are sent to you via pass/pixieset for you to download and print at your leisure. A print release will be included in the folder. The option to purchase prints or canvases through me is also available.

$100 is due to secure your session. The remainder is due on or before the session.

Session times are based on sunset and can not be changed so please be aware of the both the date and time that you are choosing.  The later we get into fall the earlier session times get so be aware if you need to have a later time with work schedules that you book right away as those go fast.  Fall colors changes when it decides to change so there is no guarantee that any one date will have amazing color. I also shoot the last hour of the day during the “golden hour” giving any scene the nice golden color that everyone loves in the fall.  You can’t go wrong with any date you choose in the fall in Nebraska.

Once you have selected your top 2-3 dates you will need to email me here with the dates you picked. I will send you an invoice along with the contract, once both are signed and paid your session is reserved. Until the retainer is paid, your session spot is not saved on my calendar.

Had a lot of fun with this family at their house. I was invited to come watch them cook, play, and interact with each other like they normally do each day. They made pancakes for breakfast, after that miss E wanted to play ring around the rosie or as she calls it “rosie”, then story and bath time. A great start to the day for everyone. Lifestyle sessions are a great way to capture you in your everyday lifestyle. You get to be comfortable in your own home while I watch and document the way you interact with each other. At this house, little miss E was a bit unsure of me and why I was there, but by the end, I was being pulled into a game of “rosie”, running and getting me and getting lots of smiles. I love watching little kiddos come out of their shell while I’m photographing them and it tends to happen a lot faster during a lifestyle session than any where else. Bonus part of this session, this house was like a dream house for me. I loved every bit of character in this awesome house and told mom she needs to come decorate my house! Now is the time! -expecting a new baby | Newborns | Cami Thompson Photography-Omaha, NE Newborn Photographer

So you just told all your friends and family that you are expecting a new little baby. Congratulations!! Now where to go from here? You know you want to capture your little one’s first moments, get all those cute photos you see of your friends’ babies, you know the ones where they are wrapped and put in a bucket or with their little tushie up. They are only this little once after all and it’s so important to think about booking before it’s too late.

A great time to book is after you have announced the pregnancy to your family and friends. The pressure is off for getting your photographer lined up. Most photographers, myself included, have our calendars lined up well in advance for these events. You will book your due date with your photographer to ensure a spot on the calendar. Then once you have the baby that is when you’ll schedule the exact date. So don’t feel like you need to know exactly when you are going to book when you choose your photographer.

A lot of my clients also have maternity photos done, which is a time I absolutely love. You are glowing, in so much amazement at the thought of having this tiny human you created to hold in just a few short weeks. Also when booking your maternity and newborn session together we get to know each other before baby comes. This seems to help with relaxing before the newborn sessions as we have already met and the pressure is off.

Lastly when you book a newborn session with me you can be assured your baby is in good hands. I have worked with many newborns of the last 4 years, learning how to safely pose the baby, taken numerous online workshops, assisting other photographers, and even teaching others how to safely handle your new little baby. Along with that I was voted one of Omaha’s top newborn photographers in 2016. I love what I do and I would love to be your baby’s photographer.

What a fantastic year it has been. I loved working with so many families and getting to see some of you more than once. This family session was just a blast. I loved reliving the session while getting these photos together for this years fall family promos. My goal is to always make these sessions fun and give you photos you will love always. I want your images to represent you and your family embracing the love you have for one another. The best images are the ones where you are all laughing, hugging, being silly with each other and not looking at the camera. Let me capture you being you.

Lifestyle in the studio | Newborns | Cami Thompson Photography

Loved this little guy and his tongue, which he kept out through his whole session. Haha! What a great family to work with. We even did some super special photos for mom which will be kept just for her but the rest of the session is just as great. I tried lifestyle in the studio with this little guy and it turned out amazing. I was so happy when I saw all the images come together. I will definitely be doing more of this in the future. Trying new things is always a great way to keep my creative side thinking.

Love, love, love!!! I’m so glad these guys took all my words to heart and brought a teddy bear to her session. Not only did it help this sweet little girl focus on something other than me trying to get smiles but it brought on all the genuine emotions I’m always trying to get.
